«Έδειξε» την κλάση του ο Βατσλίκ

Ο Ολυμπιακός τα χρειάστηκε, φτάνοντας στην ψυχοφθόρα διαδικασία των πέναλτι, ωστόσο πέτυχε μια πολύ σημαντική πρόκριση κυρίως για ψυχολογικούς λόγους. Ειδικά θα ήταν πολύ δύσκολο να συνδυάσει ο Κάρλος Κορμπεράν το ξεκίνημά του στον «ερυθρόλευκο» πάγκο με αποκλεισμό.

Οι «ερυθρόλευκοι» ένιωσαν πολλές φορές στη διάρκεια της χθεσινής δύσκολης βραδιάς να ηχεί στ’ αυτιά τους το ποδοσφαιρικό ρητό που θέλει τις μεγάλες ομάδες να ξεκινούν από τους σπουδαίους τερματοφύλακες.

Κι αυτή η παράμετρος επιβεβαιώθηκε για ακόμη μια φορά στο πρόσωπο του Τόμας Βατσλίκ. Ο πολύπειρος Τσέχος πορτιέρο, απέδειξε ότι είναι τερματοφύλακας κλάσης. Γεννημένος για τα μεγάλα ματς. Όποτε χρειάστηκε, έβαλε σε εγρήγορση τα αντανακλαστικά του πραγματοποιώντας σωτήριες επεμβάσεις, και έτσι κράτησε ζωντανό τον Ολυμπιακό στο κυνήγι της πρόκρισης. Με αποκορύφωμα την τεράστια απόκρουσή του στο πέμπτο πέναλτι της Σλόβαν και με το σκορ στην ψυχοφθόρα διαδικασία στο 3-3, δίνοντας την ευκαιρία στον Ματιέ Βαλμπουενά να «καθαρίσει» την … μπουγάδα και να χαρίσει στον Θρύλο μια τεράστια σε αξία πρόκριση.
