ΔΝΤ: Αναθεώρηση των προβλέψεων για την παγκόσμια ανάπτυξη

Ο πόλεμος στην Ουκρανία και οι μαζικές κυρώσεις σε βάρος της Ρωσίας έχουν προκαλέσει συρρίκνωση του παγκοσμίου εμπορίου και οδήγησαν σε απότομη αύξηση των τιμών των τροφίμων και της ενέργειας, ενώ θα υποχρεώσουν το Διεθνές Νομισματικό Ταμείο να αναθεωρήσει επί τα χείρω τον επόμενο μήνα τις προβλέψεις του για την παγκόσμια ανάπτυξη, όπως δήλωσε σήμερα η επικεφαλής του ΔΝΤ Κρισταλίνα Γκεοργκίεβα.

 

Σύμφωνα με την ίδια, οι άνευ προηγουμένου κυρώσεις που επιβλήθηκαν στη Μόσχα μετά την εισβολή της στην Ουκρανία προκάλεσαν ραγδαία συρρίκνωση της ρωσικής οικονομίας, η οποία βρίσκεται αντιμέτωπη με «βαθιά ύφεση» φέτος. Προειδοποίησε μάλιστα ότι μία χρεοκοπία της Ρωσίας δεν είναι πλέον «απίθανη».

 

Η Γκεοργκίεβα ανέφερε ότι το ΔΝΤ δεν είχε κάποιο πρόγραμμα σε σχέση με τη Ρωσία στην παρούσα φάση και το γραφείο του στη Μόσχα δεν λειτουργεί. Τα μέλη του έχουν καταδικάσει τον πόλεμο στην Ουκρανία, αλλά δεν υπήρξε συζήτηση για τον τερματισμό της συμμετοχής της Ρωσίας στο ΔΝΤ.
