Στόλτενμπεργκ: Επιτεύχθηκε συμφωνία με την Τουρκία για την ένταξη της Φινλανδίας και της Σουηδίας στο ΝΑΤΟ

Ο γενικός γραμματέας του ΝΑΤΟ Γενς Στόλτενμπεργκ επιβεβαίωσε ότι επιτεύχθηκε συμφωνία με την Τουρκία ώστε να ενταχθούν η Σουηδία και η Φινλανδία στη Βορειοατλαντική Συμμαχία.

 

 

 

Οι χώρες του ΝΑΤΟ ήταν ανέκαθεν σε θέση να βρίσκουν «κοινό έδαφος» και να επιλύουν τις διαφορές τους, τόνισε ο Στόλτενμπεργκ. Μετά τη συμφωνία αυτή, το ΝΑΤΟ «θα προσκαλέσει» τη Σουηδία και τη Φινλανδία να ενταχθούν, πρόσθεσε.

 

«Είμαι στην ευχάριστη θέση να ανακοινώσω ότι έχουμε συμφωνία που ανοίγει τον δρόμο για να ενταχθούν στο ΝΑΤΟ η Φινλανδία και η Σουηδία», είπε ο Στόλτενμπεργκ στους δημοσιογράφους.

 

Σύμφωνα με τον γενικό γραμματέα, η Άγκυρα, το Ελσίνκι και η Στοκχόλμη υπέγραψαν ένα μνημόνιο που καλύπτει τις ανησυχίες που εξέφραζε η Τουρκία, συμπεριλαμβανομένων των εξαγωγών όπλων και του αγώνα κατά της τρομοκρατίας.

 

Η τουρκική προεδρία στην ανακοίνωσή της αναφέρει ότι οι τρεις χώρες συμφώνησαν να εντείνουν τη συνεργασία τους στην αμυντική βιομηχανία και να άρουν τυχόν περιορισμούς. Θα συγκροτήσουν επίσης έναν μηχανισμό διαμοιρασμού πληροφοριών για να καταπολεμήσουν την τρομοκρατία.

 

Η Τουρκία εξασφάλισε «την πλήρη συνεργασία» της Φινλανδίας και της Σουηδίας κατά του PKK και των συμμάχων του, καθώς και τη δέσμευση ότι θα ληφθούν συγκεκριμένα μέτρα για την έκδοση εκείνων που κατηγορούνται για τρομοκρατικές ενέργειες.
