«Παρθενική» νίκη στο διπλό του US Open για Στέφανο και Πέτρο Τσιτσιπά

Ιστορική νίκη πέτυχαν οι Στέφανος και Πέτρος Τσιτσιπάς στο διπλό του US Open, πρώτη στο τουρνουά της Νέας Υόρκης και δεύτερη σε επίπεδο Grand Slam. 

Τα δύο αδέλφια επικράτησαν με 7-6(2), 6-4 επί των Ρέγες-Βαρέλα και Βέγκα Ερνάντεζ, μετά από μία ώρα και 34 λεπτά, εξασφαλίζοντας το «εισιτήριο» για τον 2ο γύρο της διοργάνωσης. 

Για τον κορυφαίο τενίστα όλων των εποχών στην Ελλάδα, ήταν η δεύτερη νίκη στο διπλό του US Open, μετά από εκείνη του 2018, με παρτενέρ τότε τον Ντούσαν Λάγιοβιτς (είχαν επικρατήσει των Κάμερον Νόρι και Ντιέγκο Σβάρτσμαν). 

Οι Ελληνες τενίστες θ΄ αντιμετωπίσουν στην επόμενη φάση ή, τους Ισπανούς Ρομπέρτο Καρβέγιες Μπαένα και Μπερνάβες Θαπάτα Μιράγες ή, τους  Ίβαν Ντόντιγκ και Όστιν Κράιτσεκ (νο2 του ταμπλό).
