Πάλη: Πήρε το «εισιτήριο» για τους Ολυμπιακούς Αγώνες ο Κουγιουμτσίδης

Την πρόκριση για τους Ολυμπιακούς Αγώνες «Παρίσι 2024» εξασφάλισε ο Γιώργος Κουγιουμτσίδης. Ο Έλληνας παλαιστής έκανε την υπέρβαση πετυχαίνοντας τεράστια ανατροπή επί του Αζέρου Μπαϊράμοβ στον αγώνα της 5ης θέσης των 74κ. του Παγκοσμίου Πρωταθλήματος που διεξάγεται στο Βελιγράδι και πήρε το «εισιτήριο» για το κορυφαίο αθλητικό γεγονός του πλανήτη!

Ο Γιώργος Κουγιουμτσίδης, ο οποίος έχασε δύο ευκαιρίες για να προκριθεί νωρίτερα στους ΟΑ, απέναντι στον Αζέρο Μπαϊράμοβ βρέθηκε να χάνει με 8-0 στο ημίχρονο, αλλά δεν το έβαλε κάτω. 

Με περίσσεια ψυχικά αποθέματα πραγματοποίησε ένα απίθανο δεύτερο ημίχρονο κι από το εις βάρος του σκορ το... γύρισε σε 8-8 στο τελευταίο δέκατο του δευτερολέπτου, αλλά και πάλι ο Μπαϊράμοβ είχε το προβάδισμα και κέρδιζε τον αγώνα.

Ο ομοσπονδιακός τεχνικός Θέμης Ιακωβίδης έκανε ένσταση, καθώς είδε πως ο αντίπαλός του τραβούσε το μαγιό και δικαιώθηκε. Ο Αζέρος δέχθηκε την τρίτη παρατήρηση και η πρόκριση ήρθε για την Ελλάδα και τον Γιώργο Κουγιουμτσίδη.
