Πρόκριση με σούπερ ανατροπή για τη Σάκκαρη

 

Έδειξε χαρακτήρα και συνεχίζει στο Open της Μαδρίτης η Μαρία Σάκκαρη. Παρότι έχασε το πρώτο σετ με 7-6 (10-8) από τη Μάντισον Κις, η Ελληνίδα πρωταθλήτρια αντέδρασε παίρνοντας τα δύο επόμενα με 6-3 και 6-4 και εξασφάλισε την πρόκριση στη φάση των «32».

 

Μετά την Αμερικανίδα νούμερο 22 στον κόσμο, η Σάκκαρη που είναι στην πέμπτη θέση, θα αναμετρηθεί με τη Ρωσίδα Ντάρια Κασάτκινα (Νο 23), που απέκλεισε την Άννα Μπόνταρ από την Ουγγαρία (Νο 68) με 2-1 σετ, 4-6, 6-4 και 6-3.
