Ρολάν Γκαρός: Στο... δρόμο του Μεντβέντεφ και ο Σίνερ

Η δεύτερη μεγάλη έκπληξη στο κάτω μέρος του ταμπλό του Ρολάν Γκαρός σημειώθηκε την 1η Ιουνίου. Την αρχή έκανε ο Ντανιίλ Μεντβέντεφ και σήμερα... τη σκυτάλη πήρε ο Γιάνικ Σίνερ, ο οποίος μετά από τρομερό ματς διάρκειας πεντέμιση ωρών έμεινε εκτός συνέχειας από το νο79 του κόσμου, Ντάνιελ Ατλμάιερ με 3-2 σετ.

Ο Ιταλός προηγήθηκε με 7-6 (0), στη συνέχεια έχασε με τον ίδιο τρόπο (στο τάι μπρέικ με 7-6 (7) και 7-6 (4) το δεύτερο και τέταρτο σετ, ενδιάμεσα είχε προηγηθεί ξανά με 2-1 κάνοντας «περίπατο» (6-1), αλλά στο decider ο Γερμανός ήταν πιο ψύχραιμος και με 7-5 πανηγύρισε δικαιολογημένα τη μεγάλη νίκη, που τον έστειλε στον 3ο γύρο του γαλλικού Όπεν.
