ΗΠΑ: Πέθανε ο Ο. Τζ. Σίμπσον

Ο πρώην σούπερ σταρ του αμερικανικού ποδοσφαίρου ο Ο.Τζ. Σίμπσον, η δίκη του οποίου για διπλή ανθρωποκτονία το 1995 κέντρισε το ενδιαφέρον των Αμερικανών, πριν τελικά ο ίδιος αθωωθεί, πέθανε από καρκίνο σε ηλικία 76 ετών, ανακοίνωσε σήμερα η οικογένειά του.

"Στις 10 Απριλίου, ο πατέρας μας, Όρενθολ Τζέιμς Σίμπσον, πέθανε μετά από μάχη που έδινε με τον καρκίνο. Πέθανε περιτριγυρισμένος από τα παιδιά και τα εγγόνια του", έγραψε στο X η οικογένεια του άνδρα που θεωρούνταν ένας από τους πρώτους μαύρους σούπερ σταρ στις ΗΠΑ.

Πρώην σταρ του αμερικανικού ποδοσφαίρου NFL και έπειτα ηθοποιός, ο Ο.Τζ. Σίμπσον κρίθηκε αθώος για τη δολοφονία της πρώην συζύγου του και ενός φίλου της στο Λος Άντζελες το 1995, μετά τη «δίκη του αιώνα», που είχε μεγάλη προβολή και ήταν φορτισμένη λόγω του ρατσιστικού χαρακτήρα που πήρε η υπόθεση.

Οι δικαστικές ακροάσεις της υπόθεσης καθήλωναν τη χώρα και η ετυμηγορία που αθώωσε τον Σίμπσον συνεχίζει να προκαλεί διαμάχες, σχεδόν 30 χρόνια αργότερα.
