Πρώτη νίκη σε προημιτελική φάση για τον Ολυμπιακό

Ο Ολυμπιακός ήταν καταιγιστικός για διάστημα 65 λεπτών και επικράτησε με 3-2 της Φενέρμπαχτσε στο «Γ. Καραϊσκάκης» κάνοντας το πρώτο βήμα πρόκρισης με φόντο τα ημιτελικά του Conference League.Με τον Θρύλο του Χοσέ Λουίς Μεντιλίμπαρ να γράφει ιστορία.Κι αυτό διότι αυτή ήταν η πρώτη φορά που οι «ερυθρόλευκοι» πανηγύρισαν νίκη σε προημιτελική φάση ευρωπαϊκής διοργάνωσης.Τη σεζόν 1992/93, οι Πειραιώτες είχαν φέρει 1-1 εντός έδρας με την Ατλέτικο Μαδρίτης στους «8» του Κυπέλλου Κυπελλούχων, χάνοντας 3-1 εκτός έδρας, ενώ το 1999 μέτρησαν εκ νέου μία εντός έδρας ισοπαλία (1-1) και μία εκτός έδρας ήττα (2-1) από τη Γιουβέντους στους «οκτώ» του Champions LeagueΠαράλληλα ο Ολυμπιακός πέτυχε την ένατη φετινή του νίκη στις ευρωπαϊκές διοργανώσεις βελτιώνοντας την κορυφαία επίδοση της ευρωπαϊκής του ιστορίας και βάζοντας πλώρη για ακόμη μεγαλύετερες κατακτήσεις
