Την πρόκρισή της με εμφατικό τρόπο στους «16» του απλού Γυναικών πέτυχε η Μαρία Σάκκαρη επικρατώντας με 2-0 σετ της Κινέζας Γιουάν (6-2, 6-1). Η ελληνίδα Πρωταθλήτρια βρέθηκε σε εξαιρετική ημέρα μην αφήνοντας περιθώρια αντίστασης στην αντίπαλό της,. Στον επόμενο γύρο θα αντιμετωπίσει την Ουκρανή Μάρτα Κόστιουκ.
