Άνετη νίκη για την ΑΕΚ επί της Κηφισιάς με 2-0

Σε υγιεινό περίπατο μετέτρεψε η ΑΕΚ την πρώτη της αναμέτρηση για την φάση των «16» του Κυπέλλου απέναντι στην Κηφισιά την οποία υπέταξε με 2-0 στη Ριζούπολη βάζοντας θεμέλια πρόκρισης για τα προημιτελικά. Το συγκρότημα του Ματίας Αλμέιδα παρά την διαφορά της μιας κατηγορίας που χώριζε τις δύο ομάδες παρουσιάστηκε ιδιαίτερα σοβαρό και δεν άφησε δικαιώματα στην αντίπαλό της που προηγείται στη βαθμολογία της Super League 2, δίνοντας διαδικαστικό χαρακτήρα στην επερχόμενη ρεβάνς στην «OPAP Arena»

Ο Λιβάι Γκαρσία άνοιξε το σκορ στο 34ο λεπτό με τρομερό βολέ από τα δεξιά, με το οποίο αιφνιδίασε τους πάντες, ενώ το τελικό 0-2 διαμόρφωσε ο Φαν Βεερτ με το παρθενικό του γκολ με τα «κιτρινόμαυρα» από το σημείο του πέναλτι στο 44’.
