ΟΗΕ: Το Συμβούλιο Ασφαλείας ζητεί κατεπειγόντως «παύση των εχθροπραξιών» για αρκετές ημέρες στη Γάζα

Το Συμβούλιο Ασφαλείας του ΟΗΕ υιοθέτησε απόψε ψήφισμα με το οποίο ζητεί κατεπειγόντως «παύση των εχθροπραξιών» μεταξύ Ισραήλ και Χαμάς στη Λωρίδα της Γάζας «για επαρκή αριθμό ημερών» ώστε να επιτραπεί η παράδοση ανθρωπιστικής βοήθειας στον πολιορκούμενο παλαιστινιακό θύλακα.

Στο ψήφισμα που υιοθετήθηκε απόψε δεν διατυπώνεται καταδίκη της επίθεσης που εξαπέλυσαν μαχητές της Χαμάς στις 7 Οκτωβρίου, κάτι που ζητούσαν ΗΠΑ και Βρετανία. Υπογραμμίζεται η ανάγκη συμμόρφωσης με το διεθνές δίκαιο - ιδίως σε ό,τι αφορά την προστασία αμάχων - και καλούνται οι αντιμαχόμενες πλευρές να μην στερήσουν από τον άμαχο πληθυσμό της Γάζας στοιχειώδεις υπηρεσίες και την ανθρωπιστική βοήθεια που έχει ανάγκη.
