Πέθανε ο τραγουδιστής Ρόμπερτ Ουίλιαμς

Έφυγε από τη ζωή, σε ηλικία 73 ετών, ο τραγουδιστής και συνθέτης Ρόμπερτ Ουίλιαμς, μετά από σοβαρό πρόβλημα υγείας που αντιμετώπιζε το τελευταίο διάστημα.

 

Ο Ρόμπερτ Ουίλιαμς γεννήθηκε στην Αθήνα στις 4 Δεκεμβρίου 1949. Στις αρχές της δεκαετίας του 1970 υπήρξε κιθαρίστας και τραγουδιστής της ροκ μπάντας Poll. Από το 1974 ήταν επίσης ενεργός τραγουδιστής της ποπ και της ροκ. Ο πρώτος του δίσκος κυκλοφόρησε το 1974 με τίτλο «Robert Williams».

 

Το 1976 σημείωσε μεγάλη επιτυχία με το τραγούδι «Μίλα μου» από τον δίσκο «Εσύ κι εγώ». Το 1977, μαζί με τους Πασχάλη Αρβανιτίδη, Μπέσσυ Αργυράκη και Μαριάννα Τόλη, εκπροσώπησε την Ελλάδα στον Διαγωνισμό Τραγουδιού της Eurovision με το τραγούδι "Μάθημα Σολφέζ", σε μουσική Γιώργου Χατζηνάσιου και στίχους Σέβης Τηλιακού, που πήρε την πέμπτη θέση.

 

Το 1991 συνέβαλε σημαντικά στην τηλεοπτική σειρά «Η Λάμψη» του Νίκου Φώσκολου, για την οποία έγραψε τη μουσική και τους στίχους σε πολλά τραγούδια, με σημαντικότερο το τραγούδι έναρξης «Μες στην προσευχή μου». Ο δίσκος «Η Λάμψη» κυκλοφόρησε το 1992.
