Πήρε τον τίτλο στο Laver Cup η Team World

Ο Στέφανος Τσιτσιπάς δεν τα κατάφερε απέναντι στον Φράνσις Τιαφό κι ως εκ τούτου η Team World πήρε τη νίκη (πρώτη φορά μετά από τέσσερις ήττες) απέναντι στην Team Europe με 13-8 κι αναδείχθηκε πρωταθλήτρια του Laver Cup.   Για να έμενε «ζωντανή» η ομάδα της Ευρώπης ο Έλληνας πρωταθλητής έπρεπε πάση θυσία να επικρατήσει του Αμερικανού αντιπάλου του. Στο πρώτο σετ έκανε επίδειξη δύναμης (6-1), αλλά στη συνέχεια τα πράγματα εξελίχθηκαν διαφορετικά. Το δεύτερο σετ οδηγήθηκε στο τάι μπρέικ, όπου ο Τσιτσιπάς είχε 4 ευκαιρίες για να κάνει το 2-0, παρ΄ όλα αυτά δεν τα κατάφερε. Ο Τιαφό ισοφάρισεε (7-6) και στο τρίτο σετ που παίχθηκε στους 10 πόντους, ο Αμερικανός αν και προηγήθηκε με 8-4 και είδε τον 24χρονο πρωταθλητή να μειώνει σε 9-8, τελικά πήρε τη νίκη με 10-8.     πηγή amna.gr
