Σύμβουλος Λευκού Οίκου: Το Ιράν εμπλέκεται στις επιθέσεις που εξαπολύουν οι Χούθι της Υεμένης

Οι ΗΠΑ θεωρούν ότι οι Φρουροί της Ισλαμικής Επανάστασης του Ιράν (σ.σ. η ελίτ των ιρανικών ενόπλων δυνάμεων) βοηθούν στον σχεδιασμό και στην εκτέλεση επιθέσεων που εξαπολύουν οι αντάρτες Χούθι της Υεμένης με πυραύλους και μη επανδρωμένα αεροσκάφη εναντίον του Ισραήλ και πλοίων στην Ερυθρά Θάλασσα, δήλωσε σήμερα κορυφαίος σύμβουλος του Λευκού Οίκου.

«Πιστεύουμε ότι εμπλέκονται σε αυτές τις επιθέσεις - στον σχεδιασμό, στην εκτέλεση, στην έγκρισή τους. Εν κατακλείδι, τις υποστηρίζουν», είπε ο αναπληρωτής σύμβουλος Εθνικής Ασφαλείας Τζον Φάινερ στο Φόρουμ για την Ασφάλεια στο Άσπεν.

Η Τεχεράνη αρνείται οποιαδήποτε εμπλοκή στις επιθέσεις που εξαπολύουν οι αντάρτες Χούθι εναντίον του Ισραήλ και πλοίων στην Ερυθρά Θάλασσα.

Οι σιίτες αντάρτες Χούθι διαμηνύουν πως οι επιθέσεις τους αποτελούν αντίποινα για την στρατιωτική επιχείρηση του Ισραήλ εναντίον της Χαμάς στη Λωρίδα της Γάζας, την οποία πυροδότησε η άνευ προηγουμένου επίθεση της παλαιστινιακής ισλαμιστικής οργάνωσης στις 7 Οκτωβρίου.
