Την ανακάλυψη νέου κοιτάσματος πετρελαίου στον Κόλπο του Σουέζ ανακοίνωσε η Αίγυπτος

Το υπουργείο Πετρελαίου της Αιγύπτου ανακοίνωσε σήμερα πως ανακαλύφθηκε νέο κοίτασμα πετρελαίου στην περιοχή πετρελαϊκής έρευνας και εκμετάλλευσης Geisum and Tawila West Concession στον Κόλπο του Σουέζ.

Η νέα ανακάλυψη έγινε από την αιγυπτιακή εταιρεία πετρελαίου και φυσικού αερίου Cheiron μέσω του πηγαδιού έρευνας GNN-11, που αυτή τη στιγμή παράγει περισσότερα από 2.500 βαρέλια ημερησίως, ανακοίνωσε το υπουργείο.

Το πηγάδι αυτό είναι το τέταρτο που θα ολοκληρωθεί ενώ ενδέχεται να ανοιχτούν και άλλα τρία στο πλαίσιο της τρέχουσας φάσης της έρευνας, ανέφερε το υπουργείο.

Η συνολική παραγωγή από ολόκληρο το κοίτασμα, το οποίο βρίσκεται στο Βόρειο Geisum, έχει φθάσει τα περίπου 23.000 βαρέλια την ημέρα, πρόσθεσε το υπουργείο.
