Τουρκία: Σταματούν οι έρευνες για την ανεύρεση επιζώντων από τον σεισμό εκτός από δύο επαρχίες

Η Τουρκία αποφάσισε σήμερα, δεκατέσσερις ημέρες μετά τον σεισμό της 6ης Φεβρουαρίου, να σταματήσει τις επιχειρήσεις έρευνας και διάσωσης εκτός από τις δύο περισσότερο πληγείσες επαρχίες, την Καχραμανμαράς και τη Χατάι, ανακοίνωσε η τουρκική υπηρεσία αντιμετώπισης καταστροφών, Afad.

"Σε μεγάλο αριθμό επαρχιών οι προσπάθειες ερευνών έχουν τελειώσει. Συνεχίζονται στις επαρχίες Καχραμανμαράς και Χατάι, σε περίπου 40 κτίρια", δήλωσε ο Γιούνους Σεζέρ, επικεφαλής της Afad.

Ο σεισμός μεγέθους 7,8 βαθμών προκάλεσε μεγάλες καταστροφές στο νότιο τμήμα της χώρας και στη Συρία και τον θάνατο 40.689 ανθρώπων στην Τουρκία, σύμφωνα με τον τελευταίο επίσημο απολογισμό που έδωσε σήμερα στη δημοσιότητα η Afad.

Ο αντιπρόεδρος της τουρκικής κυβέρνησης Φουάτ Οκτάι δήλωσε πως 105.000 κτίρια έχουν καταρρεύσει ή υποστεί σοβαρές ζημιές και θα κατεδαφιστούν.
