ΗΠΑ: «Αθώος» δήλωσε ο Τραμπ στο δικαστήριο

Ο πρώην πρόεδρος των ΗΠΑ Ντόναλντ Τραμπ εμφανίστηκε σήμερα ενώπιον ομοσπονδιακού δικαστηρίου της Ουάσινγκτον όπου δήλωσε αθώος στις κατηγορίες που του απαγγέλθηκαν για συνωμοσία με στόχο να αποτρέψει την επικύρωση των αποτελεσμάτων των προεδρικών εκλογών του 2020.

Φορώντας μπλε κοστούμι και κόκκινη γραβάτα, ο Τραμπ - ο οποίος θεωρείται φαβορί για το χρίσμα των Ρεπουμπλικάνων στις προσεχείς προεδρικές εκλογές - παρουσιάστηκε στο δικαστήριο λίγο πριν από τις 16:00 (τοπική ώρα, 23:00 ώρα Ελλάδος), μετά τη δίωξη που του ασκήθηκε από τον ειδικό εισαγγελέα Τζακ Σμιθ.

«Οι πρόεδροι δεν είναι βασιλιάδες» έγραφε το πλακάτ που κρατούσε ένας διαδηλωτής κοντά στο δικαστικό μέγαρο που βρίσκεται μόλις χιλιόμετρο μακριά από το Καπιτώλιο, στο οποίο υποστηρικτές του Τραμπ εισέβαλαν την 6η Ιανουαρίου 2021 επιχειρώντας να αποτρέψουν την επικύρωση της εκλογικής νίκης του Τζο Μπάιντεν.
