Μαρόκο-σεισμός: Τουλάχιστον 2.862 οι νεκροί

Αυξάνεται διαρκώς ο αριθμός των θυμάτων του φονικού σεισμού στο Μαρόκο, την ώρα που τα σωστικά συνεργεία εξακολουθούν να δίνουν μάχη με τον χρόνο για να εντοπίσουν επιζώντες στα ερείπια των κτιρίων που κατέρρευσαν.

Το υπουργείο Εσωτερικών ανακοίνωσε απόψε πως οι νεκροί ανέρχονται μέχρι στιγμής σε 2.862, ενώ 2.562 είναι οι τραυματίες - πολλοί εκ των οποίων νοσηλεύονται σε κρίσιμη κατάσταση.

Ο προηγούμενος επίσημος απολογισμός έκανε λόγο για 2.681 νεκρούς και 2.501 τραυματίες.

Ο σεισμός που συγκλόνισε το Μαρόκο το βράδυ της Παρασκευής είναι ο φονικότερος στη χώρα από το 1960, όταν σκοτώθηκαν τουλάχιστον 12.000 άνθρωποι, και ο ισχυρότερος από το 1900.
