ΟΗΕ: Στις 28 και 29 Ιουλίου θα διεξαχθεί η διεθνής διάσκεψη για το Μεσανατολικό

Η διεθνής διάσκεψη για το Μεσανατολικό, που επρόκειτο να διεξαχθεί τον Ιούνιο στην έδρα του ΟΗΕ στη Νέα Υόρκη αλλά αναβλήθηκε, προγραμματίστηκε για τις 28 και 29 Ιουλίου, ανέφεραν σήμερα διπλωματικές πηγές.

 

Η διάσκεψη αυτή, με αντικείμενο το παλαιστινιακό ζήτημα και τη λύση των δύο κρατών, είχε αναβληθεί λόγω του πολέμου μεταξύ του Ισραήλ και του Ιράν.

 

Οι διπλωματικές πηγές που μίλησαν στο Γαλλικό Πρακτορείο δεν έδωσαν περισσότερες διευκρινίσεις όσον αφορά το πρόγραμμα και το επίπεδο των συμμετεχόντων. Αρχικά, αναμενόταν να συμμετάσχουν πολλοί ηγέτες κρατών και κυβερνήσεων.

 

Στη διάσκεψη συμπροεδρεύουν η Γαλλία και η Σαουδική Αραβία.

 

Ο πρόεδρος της Γαλλίας Εμανουέλ Μακρόν ζήτησε χθες να αναγνωριστεί το κράτος της Παλαιστίνης ταυτόχρονα από τη χώρα του και το Ηνωμένο Βασίλειο. Ωστόσο ο Βρετανός πρωθυπουργός Κιρ Στάρμερ είπε ότι θα πρέπει «να δοθεί έμφαση» στην επίτευξη εκεχειρίας στη Λωρίδα της Γάζας.
