Τηλεφωνική επικοινωνία Κυρ. Μητσοτάκη με τον υπουργό Εξωτερικών των ΗΠΑ, Μ. Ρούμπιο

O πρωθυπουργός Κυριάκος Μητσοτάκης είχε τηλεφωνική επικοινωνία με τον υπουργό Εξωτερικών των Ηνωμένων Πολιτειών, Μάρκο Ρούμπιο, στη διάρκεια της οποίας συζητήθηκε το εξαιρετικό επίπεδο των ελληνοαμερικανικών σχέσεων, γεγονός που ενισχύεται από την ανάπτυξη αμερικανικών επενδύσεων στην Ελλάδα.

 

Συζητήθηκε, επίσης, η αμοιβαία βούληση περαιτέρω ενίσχυσης των σχέσεων, τόσο διμερώς όσο και πολυμερώς, μέσω σχημάτων όπως το «3+1» με τη συμμετοχή της Κύπρου και του Ισραήλ.

 

Ακόμη, ανταλλάγησαν απόψεις για την κατάσταση στη Λιβύη. Συζητήθηκε η ανάγκη ενίσχυσης της πολιτικής διαδικασίας, που θα οδηγήσει τη χώρα σε ελεύθερες εκλογές και θα την απαλλάξει από ξένη παρουσία και επιρροές, η υποχρέωση καθολικού σεβασμού του Διεθνούς Δικαίου σε σχέση με την οριοθέτηση θαλασσίων ζωνών και η ανάγκη ελέγχου των παράνομων μεταναστευτικών ροών.

 

Στο επίκεντρο της συζήτησης βρέθηκαν, επίσης, οι διεθνείς εξελίξεις, ιδίως στη Μέση Ανατολή και στην Ουκρανία.
