Ο Πρόεδρος της Μαδαγασκάρης βρίσκεται «σε ασφαλή τοποθεσία» ύστερα από «απόπειρα δολοφονίας»

Ο πρόεδρος της Μαδαγασκάρης, Άντρι Ρατζοέλινα, απηύθυνε το βράδυ της Δευτέρας έκκληση για «σεβασμό του Συντάγματος» στο πρώτο του μήνυμα αφότου στρατιωτικοί τάχθηκαν στο πλευρό αντικυβερνητικών διαδηλωτών στη διάρκεια του σαββατοκύριακου.

 

Σε ομιλία του που μεταδόθηκε στα μέσα κοινωνικής δικτύωσης, αλλά όχι στην κρατική τηλεόραση, ο Ρατζοέλινα διαβεβαίωσε ότι βρίσκεται «σε ασφαλή τοποθεσία» ύστερα από «απόπειρα δολοφονίας» του, χωρίς να υπεισέλθει σε περαιτέρω διευκρινίσεις. «Υπάρχει μόνο ένας τρόπος για την επίλυση αυτών των προβλημάτων, κι αυτός είναι να σεβαστούμε το Σύνταγμα που ισχύει στη χώρα», είπε, απορρίπτοντας ουσιαστικά το αίτημα των διαδηλωτών να παραιτηθεί.

 

Νωρίτερα χθες, το πρακτορείο ειδήσεων Reuters μετέδωσε πως ο πρόεδρος της Μαδαγασκάρης εγκατέλειψε τη χώρα με γαλλικό στρατιωτικό αεροσκάφος, επικαλούμενο τον ηγέτη της αντιπολίτευσης Σιτένι Ραντριανασολονιάικο και στρατιωτική πηγή που δεν κατονόμασε.
