Ταυτόχρονα στη Μάλτα τα final-4 του Champions League σε άνδρες και γυναίκες

Σε ένα πρωτοποριακό «πείραμα» προχωρά η European Aquatics, που αποφάσισε να διοργανώσει παράλληλα τα φετινά final-4 του Champions League ανδρών και γυναικών, στη Μάλτα. Επιβεβαιώνοντας τις πληροφορίες που είχαν κυκλοφορήσει, η ευρωπαϊκή ομοσπονδία υγρού στίβου ανακοίνωσε ότι η τελική φάση της κορυφαίας διασυλλογικής διοργάνωσης των γυναικών θα γίνει μαζί με εκείνη των ανδρών, που ήταν ήδη γνωστό πως θα φιλοξενηθεί -για τρίτη σερί σεζόν- στη Μάλτα. Οι αγώνες θα γίνουν μέσα σε ένα τετραήμερο (10-13 Ιουνίου) και εναλλάξ, κάτι που σημαίνει στις 10/6 θα διεξαχθούν οι ημιτελικοί των γυναικών, στις 11/6 οι ημιτελικοί των ανδρών και αντίστοιχα στις 12 και 13 Ιουνίου οι τελικοί.

 

Η ταυτόχρονη διεξαγωγή των δύο final-4 αποτελεί προφανώς μία πρόκληση, ταυτόχρονα όμως είναι ιδιαίτερα ευνοϊκή για τους δύο συλλόγους που διεκδικούν με αξιώσεις την παρουσία τους σε αμφότερα τα final-4, δηλαδή τον Ολυμπιακό και τη Φερεντσβάρος.

 

Υπενθυμίζεται ότι, ενώ τα τελευταία χρόνια έχει καθιερωθεί η εκ ων προτέρων ανάθεση της τελικής φάσης του Champions League σε μία πόλη (συνήθως μάλιστα για 2-3 χρόνια), στις γυναίκες η European Aquatics ανέθετε τη διοργάνωση σε μία από τις τέσσερις φιναλίστ, αφότου βεβαίως αυτές είχαν γίνει γνωστές.
