Πρόκριση για Τσιτσιπά

Την πρόκριση στον 2ο γύρο του τουρνουά ATP 250 της Γενεύης πήρε ο Στέφανος Τσιτσιπάς, επικρατώντας δύσκολα του Γάλλου Τζιοβάνι Μπετσί Περικάρ με 6-4, 7-6. Ο Έλληνας τενίστας, που μετέχει στη διοργάνωση με wild card, θα συνεχίσει στους «16» με αντίπαλο τον Αμερικανό Τέιλορ Φριτς, που είναι Νο 4 στο ταμπλό και πέρασε χωρίς αγώνα τον πρώτο γύρο.

 

Ο Τσιτσιπάς πέτυχε ένα και μοναδικό break, στο εναρκτήριο γκέιμ του ματς, και αυτό αποδείχθηκε αρκετό για να του δώσει τη νίκη στο πρώτο σετ, αφού στο ενδιάμεσο χρειάστηκε να σώσει ένα break point του αντιπάλου του. Στο δεύτερο σετ και οι δύο παίκτες είχαν ευκαιρίες να «σπάσουν» το αντίπαλο σερβίς, χωρίς να τις αξιοποιήσουν, και έφτασαν στο tie-break. Εκεί ο Έλληνας πρωταθλητής προηγήθηκε 6-3, αλλά ο Περικάρ (Νο 80 στον κόσμο) απάντησε με τέσερις διαδοχικούς πόντους, για να περάσει μπροστά με 7-6. Ο Τσιτσιπάς «έσβησε» το σετ μπολ του Γάλλου, προηγήθηκε ξανά 8-7 και τελικά κέρδισε το tie-break με 10-8 και τον αγώνα.
