Στον τελικό η Μάγια Χβαλίνσκα

Η Πολωνή Μάγια Χβαλίνσκα συνέχισε την εντυπωσιακή της πορεία στο Ρολάν Γκαρός, επικρατώντας της Ντανιέλα Σνάιντερ με 7-6(4), 6-4 και εξασφαλίζοντας την πρόκριση στον πρώτο τελικό Grand Slam της καριέρας της. Στον τελικό θα αντιμετωπίσει τη Ρωσίδα Μίρα Αντρέεβα.

 

Η 24χρονη Πολωνή, η οποία αγωνίζεται ως qualifier, πραγματοποίησε ακόμη μία μεγάλη εμφάνιση στο «Σταντ Ρολάν Γκαρός», αξιοποιώντας τις κρίσιμες στιγμές του αγώνα και δείχνοντας σταθερότητα απέναντι στη Σνάιντερ.

 

Η Αντρέεβα είχε προηγουμένως εξασφαλίσει τη δική της θέση στον τελικό, επικρατώντας με άνεση της Ουκρανής Μάρτα Κόστγιουκ με 6-1, 6-3 στον ημιτελικό.

 

Στο πρώτο σετ, η Σνάιντερ εμφανίστηκε εκνευρισμένη απέναντι στις δυνατές και ακριβείς επιλογές της αντιπάλου της, ωστόσο κατάφερε να επιστρέψει προσωρινά στο ματς, ισοφαρίζοντας σε 4-4. Η Χβαλίνσκα, όμως, διατήρησε τον έλεγχο στα κρίσιμα σημεία, κατακτώντας το σετ στο τάι μπρέικ.

 

Στο δεύτερο σετ, ένα καθοριστικό μπρέικ έδωσε προβάδισμα στην Πολωνή, η οποία ολοκλήρωσε τη νίκη της στο πρώτο της match point με δυνατό forehand winner.

 

Με αυτή την επικράτηση, η Χβαλίνσκα δίνει συνέχεια στο «παραμύθι» της στο Παρίσι, φτάνοντας μέχρι τον τελικό της διοργάνωσης.
