Αποκλείστηκε νωρίς η Σάκκαρη

Παρά την «εκτόξευσή» της στην παγκόσμια κατάταξη (Νο 37 από Νο 49) η Μαρία Σάκκαρη δεν κατάφερε να προχωρήσει στο τουρνουά του Queen’s (WTA 500).

 

Η Ελληνίδα πρωταθλήτρια ηττήθηκε από την την 38χρονη Γερμανίδα Τατιάνα Μαρία με 6-3, 6-3 και αποκλείστηκε από την πρεμιέρα του βρετανικού τουρνουά. Ο αγώνας διήρκεσε 1 ώρα και 26 λεπτά με την Τατιάνα Μαρία, κάτοχο του τίτλου και Νο52 στον κόσμο, να παίρνει την πρόκριση στον β΄ γύρο, όπου θα αντιμετωπίσει την Έλενα Ριμπάκινα (Καζακστάν) Νο2 στην παγκόσμια κατάταξη.
