Άλμα πρόκρισης για την Φιορεντίνα

Το πρώτο σημαντικό βήμα πρόκρισης πέτυχε η Φιορεντίνα. Η ομάδα του Ιταλιάνο λύγισε την Αταλάντα στο «Αρτέμιο Φράνκι», επικρατώντας 1-0 στην πρώτη συνάντηση των δύο ομάδων για τα ημιτελικά του Coppa Italia. Θα ακολουθήσει ρεβάνς στις 24/4. Το τέρμα, το οποίο χάρισε τη νίκη στους «βιόλα», σημείωσε στο 31ο λεπτό ο Μαντραγκόρα με απίθανη σουτάρα από μακρινή απόσταση.

Κυριάρχησαν στο πρώτο μέρος οι γηπεδούχοι, χάνοντας μία σειρά από ευκαιρίες, ενώ οι φιλοξενούμενοι είχαν παθητικό ρόλο σε αυτό το διάστημα και δύο άστοχα σουτ. Στο δεύτερο ημίχρονο, η Αταλάντα ισορρόπησε το παιχνίδι, αλλά δεν μπόρεσε να βρει το γκολ, με το οποίο θα άλλαζε τα δεδομένα ενόψει της ρεβάνς.
