Απέπλευσε για Χίο και Μυτιλήνη το Blue Star I, που παρέμενε στον Πειραιά έπειτα από απειλή για βόμβα

Αναχώρησε τελικά στις 10.10 το βράδυ της Κυριακής από το λιμάνι του Πειραιά το επιβατηγό-οχηματαγωγό πλοίο BLUE STAR I (Ν.Π. 10744), αφού προηγουμένως ελέγχθηκε εξονυχιστικά έπειτα από ανώνυμη τηλεφωνική καταγγελία για τοποθέτηση εκρηκτικού μηχανισμού στο εσωτερικό του.

 

Το πλοίο, που είχε προγραμματισμένο απόπλου στις 20:00 με προορισμό τη Χίο και τη Μυτιλήνη, παρέμεινε δεμένο στο λιμάνι έως ότου ολοκληρωθούν όλες οι προβλεπόμενες διαδικασίες ασφαλείας.

 

Με εντολή του Λιμενικού Σώματος - Ελληνικής Ακτοφυλακής, πραγματοποιήθηκε άμεση αποβίβαση των 750 επιβατών που είχαν ήδη επιβιβαστεί στο πλοίο, ενώ στο σημείο μετέβησαν στελέχη του Κλιμακίου Ειδικών Αποστολών (ΚΕΑ), συνοδευόμενα από σκύλο ανίχνευσης εκρηκτικών υλών, για να διενεργήσουν τον απαραίτητο έλεγχο.

 

Σύμφωνα με τις λιμενικές αρχές, δεν εντοπίστηκε κανένα ύποπτο αντικείμενο και, αφού διαπιστώθηκε ότι δεν συντρέχει λόγος ανησυχίας, δόθηκε τελικά το «πράσινο φως» για τον απόπλου του πλοίου και την επανεπιβίβαση των επιβατών. Όπως αναφέρεται, το περιστατικό αντιμετωπίστηκε με ψυχραιμία και απόλυτη τήρηση των πρωτοκόλλων ασφαλείας.
