Αποκλείστηκε ο Τσιτσιπάς

Το εμπόδιο του Τσέχου Γίρι Λεχέτσκα αποδείχθηκε ανυπέρβλητο για τον Στέφανο Τσιτσιπά, ο οποίος ολοκλήρωσε την παρουσία του στο Indian Wells στους «16» του τουρνουά. 

Ο Έλληνας τενίστας (Νο11) έμεινε μακριά από τον καλό του εαυτό και αποκλείστηκε με 2-0 σετ (6-2, 6-4) από το Νο29 της παγκόσμιας κατάταξης. 

Ο Τσιτσιπάς «πλήρωσε» το κάκιστο του πρώτο σετ, στο οποίο έπεσε εύκολα με 6-2, ενώ ακόμα κι όταν προσπάθησε να βγάλει αντίδραση στο δεύτερο δεν κατάφερε σε κανένα σημείο να πετύχει την ανατροπή. 

Αντίπαλος του Λεχέτσκα στα προημιτελικά θα είναι ο νικητής του ζευγαριού Μπεν Σέλτον - Γιανίκ Σίνερ.
