Για πρώτη φορά σε τελικό Γουίμπλεντον η Κρεϊτσίκοβα

Η Μπάρμπορα Κρεϊτσίκοβα κατάφερε μετά από μία σπουδαία ανατροπή να πάρει την πρόκριση στον πρώτο της τελικό Γουίμπλεντον. Η 28χρονη Τσέχα νίκησε με 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 την κάτοχο του τίτλου το 2022, Έλενα Ριμπάκινα, στα ημιτελικά του φημισμένου Γκραν Σλαμ. 

 

Η Κρεϊτσίκοβα έχασε γρήγορα την επαφή με την Ριμπάκινα στο πρώτο σετ, όταν βρέθηκε να χάνει με το... καλησπέρα, 5-1, ενώ... παραδόθηκε με 6-3. 

 

Ωστόσο η πρωταθλήτρια του Ρολάν Γκαρός το 2021 ανέβασε στροφές από το δεύτερο σετ, εξαργύρωσε όλα τα κρίσιμα μπρέικ και όχι μόνο ισοφάρισε σε 1-1, αλλά τελικά πήρε την πολυπόθητη πρόκριση με 2-1.

 

Στον τελικό η Κρεϊτσίκοβα θα αντιμετωπίσει την επίσης... πρωτάρα σε μάχη τίτλου στο Γουίμπλεντον, Γιασμίν Παολίνι, η οποία νωρίτερα πήρε τον... μαραθώνιο του κεντρικού κορτ με την Ντόνα Βέκιτς και έγινε η πρώτη Ιταλίδα που φτάνει στην καταληκτική αναμέτρηση του Γκραν Σλαμ.
