Είπε "αντίο" η Σάκκαρη...

Στη φάση των «32» ολοκληρώθηκαν οι προσπάθειες της Μαρίας Σάκκαρη στο Indian Wells. 

 

Η κορυφαία Ελληνίδα τενίστρια ηττήθηκε με 2-0 σετ από το νούμερο 3 της παγκόσμιας κατάταξης, Κόκο Γκοφ και αποχαιρέτησε το τουρνουά. 

 

Η 29χρονη, η οποία βρίσκεται στο Νο 29 της παγκόσμιας κατάταξης και πέρυσι ήταν φιναλίστ στο Indian Wells, πλήρωσε τα λάθη της και «έπεσε» με 7-6 (1), 6-2 σε 1 ώρα και 35 λεπτά, απέναντι στην Γκοφ, με την Αμερικανίδα να παίρνει... εκδίκηση από την περυσινή ήττα της στον ημιτελικό από την Σάκκαρη.
