Λευκός Οίκος: Οι δασμοί στα προϊόντα από τον Καναδά, το Μεξικό και την Κίνα θα τεθούν σε εφαρμογή από την 1η Φεβρουαρίου

Η εκπρόσωπος του Λευκού Οίκου Κάρολιν Λίβιτ ανακοίνωσε απόψε ότι οι δασμοί που απειλούσε να επιβάλει ο Ντόναλντ Τραμπ από την 1η Φεβρουαρίου στα εισαγόμενα προϊόντα από τον Καναδά, το Μεξικό και την Κίνα, θα τεθούν όντως σε εφαρμογή αυτό το Σαββατοκύριακο.

 

 

 

«Ο πρόεδρος θα επιβάλει αύριο, 1η Φεβρουαρίου, δασμούς ύψους 25% στο Μεξικό, 25% στον Καναδά και 10% στην Κίνα, για την παράνομη φαιντανύλη που παρασκευάζουν και επιτρέπουν να διακινείται στη χώρα μας», είπε η Λίβιτ κατά την ενημέρωση των δημοσιογράφων.

 

Η εκπρόσωπος είπε ότι «δεν βλέπει» να ξεκινά εμπορικός πόλεμος με τον Καναδά μολονότι ο Καναδός πρωθυπουργός Τζάστιν Τριντό προειδοποίησε νωρίτερα ότι η Οτάβα θα απαντήσει «άμεσα και σθεναρά» στην επιβολή δασμών. Ο Τραμπ θα απαντήσει στις δηλώσεις του Τριντό «εν ευθέτω χρόνω», πρόσθεσε.

 

Σύμφωνα με τη Λίβιτ, ο Αμερικανός πρόεδρος δεν έχει αποφασίσει ακόμη το πότε θα επιβάλει δασμούς στην Ευρωπαϊκή Ένωση. Η εκπρόσωπος απέφυγε εξάλλου να πει εάν οι μελλοντικοί δασμοί, εφόσον επιβληθούν, θα είναι ίδιοι για όλες τις χώρες μέλη της ΕΕ ή αν θα υπάρξουν διαφοροποιήσεις.
