Σημαντικό πλήγμα για τον Παναθηναϊκό ενόψει της κρίσιμης ρεβάνς με τη Ρέιντζερς για τα προκριματικά του Champions League.

Ο Μανώλης Σιώπης, ένα από τα βασικά γρανάζια της μεσαίας γραμμής του «τριφυλλιού», υπέστη θλάση πρώτου βαθμού στον ραπτικό μυ, όπως έδειξαν οι ιατρικές εξετάσεις στις οποίες υποβλήθηκε μετά την τελευταία προπόνηση της ομάδας. Ο τραυματισμός του διεθνούς μέσου ήρθε σε μια ιδιαίτερα κρίσιμη χρονική στιγμή, λίγες μόλις ημέρες πριν από τον επαναληπτικό αγώνα του ΟΑΚΑ.
