Ρέθυμνο: Μεγάλη φωτιά στον Άγιο Βασίλειο

Μεγάλη φωτιά μαίνεται αυτή την ώρα στον 'Αγιο Βασίλειο Ρεθύμνου, με το μέτωπο να βρίσκεται στα Ακούμια, περιοχή Προδρόμου, Κρύα Βρύση και προς Τριόπετρα.

 

   Η φωτιά ξεκίνησε αργά το βράδυ της Τρίτης και εξαπλώθηκε ταχύτατα. Δεν απειλούνται οικισμοί, η έκταση της φωτιάς όπως ενημέρωσε ο δήμαρχος Αγίου Βασιλείου, Γιάννης Ταταράκης, στο ΑΠΕ-ΜΠΕ είναι ισχυρή, με τις πυροσβεστικές και άλλες δυνάμεις που συνδράμουν, να έχουν δύσκολο έργο λόγω του ανάγλυφου της περιοχής και του ανέμου που πνέει.

 

   Ένα μέτωπο στο οποίο επεκτάθηκε η φωτιά έχει καταπολεμηθεί και βρίσκεται σε πυροσβεστικό κλοιό, όμως το μέτωπο προς Τριόπετρα έχει γιγαντωθεί. Η δύναμη της πυροσβεστικής υπηρεσίας είναι καθολική και σε αυτή συνδράμει ο δήμος Αγίου Βασιλείου με 14 μικρά πυροσβεστικά οχήματα, μία υδροφόρα καθώς και 4 υδροφόρες από την Περιφέρεια.

 

   Το πύρινο μέτωπο κινείται νοτιοανατολικά και σύμφωνα με ενημέρωση τις πυροσβεστικής στο ΑΠΕ-ΜΠΕ, οι προσπάθειες αφορούν στο να ανακόψουν τη νότια κατεύθυνσή του.

 

   Οι φλόγες καίνε αγροτολιβαδικές, γεωργικές εκτάσεις, ενώ στη μάχη με τις φλόγες βρίσκονται και πολλοί εθελοντές κάτοικοι της περιοχής, οι οποίοι ζουν στην περιοχή έχοντας τις μνήμες από τις προηγούμενες φωτιές του Ιουλίου 2022.
