Στα προημιτελικά ο Τσιτσιπάς

Στα προημιτελικά του Barcelona Open προκρίθηκε ο Στέφανος Τσιτσιπάς. 

 

Ο κορυφαίος Έλληνας τενίστας επικράτησε με 2-0 σετ (7-6(4), 6-4) του Αμερικανού (Νο24), Σεμπ Κόρντα, σε 1 ώρα και 37 λεπτά, στη φάση των «16» του τουρνουά της Βαρκελώνης και πανηγύρισε τη δεύτερη διαδοχική πρόκριση του σε οκτάδα, μετά το Μόντε Κάρλο. 

 

Στην επόμενη φάση ο 26χρονος και Νο16 της παγκόσμιας κατάταξης θα αντιμετωπίσει τον Αρτούρ Φις (Νο14), από τον οποίο είχε ηττηθεί στις δύο προηγούμενες συναντήσεις τους.

 

Αξίζει πάντως να σημειωθεί ότι οι δυο τους δεν έχουν αναμετρηθεί ποτέ σε χωμάτινη επιφάνεια.
