Συνάντηση της Ό. Κεφαλογιάννη με τον καθηγητή Χρ. Ζερεφό

Στη συνεργασία του υπουργείου Τουρισμού με την Ακαδημία Αθηνών για την υλοποίηση του προσφάτως θεσμοθετημένου Παρατηρητηρίου Θαλάσσιου και Παράκτιου Τουρισμού στη Μεσόγειο, που συστάθηκε στο υπουργείο Τουρισμού, επικεντρώθηκε η συνάντηση της υπουργού Τουρισμού Όλγας Κεφαλογιάννη με τον γενικό γραμματέα της Ακαδημίας Αθηνών και εθνικό εκπρόσωπο για την Κλιματική Αλλαγή, ομότιμο καθηγητή της Ατμοσφαιρικής Φυσικής Χρήστο Ζερεφό.

Μάλιστα, συμφώνησαν ότι έχει τεράστια σημασία η ισχυρή επιστημονική πλαισίωση -και μάλιστα στο ανώτατο ακαδημαϊκό επίπεδο- αυτού του εξαιρετικά χρήσιμου εργαλείου μέτρησης και παρακολούθησης της τουριστικής ανάπτυξης στην περιοχή της Μεσογείου.

Η υπουργός Τουρισμού τόνισε ότι η παρακολούθηση και συλλογή στοιχείων βοηθά στον προσδιορισμό και την εφαρμογή τεκμηριωμένης πολιτικής για τη βελτίωση της ανταγωνιστικότητας και της ανθεκτικότητας του τουριστικού προϊόντος.

Η κ. Κεφαλογιάννη υπογράμμισε ότι για το υπουργείο Τουρισμού είναι καθοριστικής σημασίας η προσαρμογή των πολιτικών για την ανάπτυξη του τουρισμού στις θαλάσσιες περιοχές της Ελλάδας, να διέπεται και να συνδυάζεται με μέτρο, ισορροπία και όρους βιωσιμότητας.
