Τουλάχιστον 16 νεκροί από τον καύσωνα στην Ιταλία

Τουλάχιστον 16 άνθρωποι έχασαν την ζωή τους από το κύμα καύσωνα που πλήττει την χώρα, σύμφωνα με στοιχεία των ιταλικών αρχών.

 

Από την αρχή της εβδομάδας, 6 άνθρωποι πέθαναν ενώ βρίσκονταν σε θέρετρα ή εργάζονταν κάτω από τον ήλιο.

 

Στα νοσοκομεία της χώρας έχασαν την ζωή τους τουλάχιστο άλλοι 10 ηλικιωμένοι, οι οποίοι είχαν εισαχθεί στα επείγοντα περιστατικά με έντονα συμπτώματα αφυδάτωσης.

 

Στην Ρώμη, στο μεταξύ, συνεχίζουν να σημειώνονται συνεχή μπλακ άουτ εξαιτίας της υπερβολικής φόρτωσης του ηλεκτρικού δικτύου. Επίσης στην ευρύτερη περιοχή της ιταλικής πρωτεύουσας ξέσπασε σειρά πυρκαγιών.

 

Σήμερα οι πόλεις σε ύψιστο επίπεδο επιφυλακής είναι 18, ενώ η θερμοκρασία στην Κάτω Ιταλία αναμένεται να ξεπεράσει τους 40 βαθμούς. Από την Κυριακή, σύμφωνα με τους ειδικούς, ο υδράργυρος αναμένεται να σημειώσει αισθητή πτώση.

 

Εξαιτίας της μεγάλης ζέστης, τέλος, έμεινε κλειστός για αρκετές ωρες ο αυτοκινητόδρομος που συνδέει το Μιλάνο με την Βενετία. Σε πολλά σημεία του, η άσφαλτος έλιωσε και χρειάσθηκε άμεση κινητοποίηση των συνεργείων για την αποκατάσταση του οδοστρώματος.
