Το Ισραήλ φέρεται να έχει καταθέσει πρόταση για κατάπαυση του πυρός στη Λωρίδα της Γάζας, που θα μπορούσε να διαρκέσει έως και δύο μήνες, με στόχο την απελευθέρωση όλων των ομήρων της Χαμάς, σύμφωνα με δημοσίευμα του ιστότοπου Axios που επικαλείται ισραηλινούς αξιωματούχους. Διαμεσολαβητές από την Αίγυπτο και το Κατάρ έχουν μεταφέρει το σχέδιο στην ηγεσία του παλαιστινιακού ισλαμιστικού κινήματος που ελέγχει τη Λωρίδα της Γάζας, αναφέρει η ίδια πηγή.

Η εφημερίδα Times of Israel μεταδίδει ότι ο ισραηλινός πρωθυπουργός Μπενιαμίν Νετανιάχου φέρεται να είπε σήμερα σε συγγενείς ομήρων ότι δεν ευσταθούν οι πληροφορίες περί πρότασης της Χαμάς για την απελευθέρωση αιχμαλώτων, υπογραμμίζοντας πως αντιθέτως τέτοια πρόταση έχει κατατεθεί από το Ισραήλ. Αρνήθηκε όμως να τους υπεισέλθει σε λεπτομέρειες όσο συνεχίζονται οι διαπραγματεύσεις.

Το τηλεοπτικό δίκτυο Channel 13 μεταδίδει ότι το σχέδιο προβλέπει την απελευθέρωση των ομήρων σε τρία στάδια: το πρώτο αφορά γυναίκες και ηλικιωμένους, το δεύτερο νέους και το τρίτο προβλέπει την απελευθέρωση στρατιωτών μαζί με την παράδοση των σορών των αιχμαλώτων που βρήκαν τον θάνατο.

Σε κάθε στάδιο θα απελευθερώνονται Παλαστίνιοι που κρατούνται σε ισραηλινές φυλακές, αναλόγως του αριθμού των αιχμαλώτων που θα αφήνονται ελεύθεροι από τη Χαμάς. Επιπλέον, το Ισραήλ φέρεται διατεθειμένο να επανεξετάσει την παρουσία των δυνάμεών του στη Λωρίδα της Γάζας.
