Φον ντερ Λάιεν: «Η Ευρώπη πρέπει επειγόντως να επανεξοπλιστεί»

Η Ευρώπη πρέπει επειγόντως να επανεξοπλιστεί και πρέπει να δοθεί στα κράτη μέλη δημοσιονομικός χώρος για να αυξήσουν τις αμυντικές δαπάνες, δήλωσε σήμερα η πρόεδρος της Ευρωπαϊκής Επιτροπής Ούρσουλα φον ντερ Λάιεν μετά τη σύνοδο του Λονδίνου για τη στήριξη της Ουκρανίας.

 

 

 

 

 

«Μετά από μεγάλο χρονικό διάστημα ανεπαρκών επενδύσεων, είναι πλέον υψίστης σημασίας να αυξηθούν οι αμυντικές επενδύσεις για παρατεταμένο χρονικό διάστημα», είπε σε δημοσιογράφους μετά τη σύνοδο συμμάχων του Κιέβου στο Λονδίνο.

 

«Τα κράτη μέλη χρειάζονται περισσότερο δημοσιονομικό χώρο για να αυξήσουν τις αμυντικές δαπάνες», συμπλήρωσε.

 

Τόνισε ότι θα παρουσιάσει «ένα ολοκληρωμένο σχέδιο για τον επανεξοπλισμό της Ευρώπης» στην έκτακτη σύνοδο κορυφής της ΕΕ για την άμυνα την ερχόμενη Πέμπτη.
