Nίκη με ανατροπή ο Τσιτσιπάς

Με το... δεξί μπήκε στο Σινσινάτι Open, ο Στέφανος Τσιτσιπάς (Νο11), αποκλείοντας με 2-1 (6-4, 4-6, 3-6) τον Γερμανό Γιαν Λέναρντ Στρουφ (Νο36), στην πρεμιέρα και στον πρώτο αγώνα του με προπονητή τον Δημήτρη Χατζηνικολάου αντί του πατέρα του, Απόστολου. 

 

Ο Στρουφ κατάφερε να πάρει το πρώτο σετ με 6-4, κάνοντας μπρέικ στο ένατο γκέιμ. Όμως, ο Έλληνας τενίστας βρήκε ρυθμό στη συνέχεια. Στο νέο μπρέικ του Στρουφ στις αρχές του δευτέρου σετ, ο "Tsitsifast" απάντησε με δύο μπρέικ και με 6-4 ισοφάρισε σε 1-1. Στο 3ο σετ, ο Τσιτσιπάς έφτασε άνετα στο 5-2 και καθάρισε τη νίκη-πρόκριση στον 2ο γύρο, σε έναν αγώνα πάντως, στον οποίο αμφότεροι έκαναν αβίαστα λάθη.

 

Στους «32» του Σινσινάτι Open, o Στέφανος Τσιτσιπάς θα αντιμετωπίσει τον νικητή του αγώνα ανάμεσα στον Τζακ Ντρέιπερ (Μ. Βρετανία, Νο28) και τον Χάουμε Μούναρ (Ισπανία, Νο89).
