Ασημένιος Πρωταθλητής Ευρώπης ο Δημητρόπουλος

«Ασημένιος» πρωταθλητής Ευρώπης στο ταεκβοντό ο Κωνσταντίνος Δημητρόπουλος. Ο Έλληνας πρωταθλητής πήρε τη δεύτερη θέση στα -54 κιλά στο Ευρωπαϊκό Πρωτάθλημα του Βελιγραδίου, ανεβάζοντας στα 47 τον συνολικό αριθμό μεταλλίων της χώρας μας στη διοργάνωση.

Ο Δημητρόπουλος, ο οποίος πλέον είναι κάτοχος πέντε μεταλλίων σε ευρωπαϊκά πρωταθλήματα όλων των ηλικιακών κατηγοριών, μπήκε στη διοργάνωση της σερβικής πρωτεύουσας ως Νο 3 στο ταμπλό, ωστόσο με τις εμφανίσεις του κατάφερε να βρεθεί στον τελικό της κατηγορίας και να κατακτήσει το ασημένιο μετάλλιο.

Το Νο 10 της παγκόσμιας κατάταξης σημείωσε τρεις νίκες στον δρόμο προς τον τελικό. Επικράτησε του Δανού Αουλάγκι, του Ολλανδού Μόλε και του Ουκρανού Μανένκοφ. Στον τελικό, ηττήθηκε από τον Τούρκο Τσάμογλου, αλλά η δεύτερη θέση αποτελεί την κορυφαία στιγμή της καριέρας του.
